Noordwijk – Taxi Brouwer is taking a big step towards sustainable mobility. With no fewer than 14 fully electric vehicles, including ten Mercedes EQE models, two EQE SUVs and two EVito Tourers, the transport company is strengthening its position as a forward-looking pioneer in the region.

Taxi Brouwer's fleet now consists of sixty taxis, which are available day and night to transport passengers. From Bio Science Park to town halls and from private individuals to businesses: everyone knows where to find Brouwer's 24/7 service.

Thinking ahead in greening

John Brouwer, co-owner of the company: ‘Electric transport is becoming the norm, especially in cities such as Leiden, where fossil fuel taxis will soon be banned. We have anticipated this. Our drivers now charge at our own fast-charging stations at the office on Keyserswey.’

With a range of up to 550 kilometres and advanced energy recovery via “flippers”, the new vehicles are more efficient than ever. Eco-drive technology has also been integrated, encouraging economical and safe driving.

Green energy from our own roof

Taxi Brouwer's sustainability efforts go beyond just the vehicle fleet. 273 solar panels have been installed and, with the arrival of a new transformer station, the charging capacity has increased fivefold. The next ambition? Fully electric coaches.‘We're not only driving cleaner, but also more relaxed,’ says Brouwer. ‘Diesel is a thing of the past. This is just the beginning of our green revolution.’
