Brouwer Academy


The Brouwers Academy is an “in house” driving and training institute and is officially certified by the Dutch Central Office for Driving Licences and Certificates. (Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheids-bewijzen – CBR/CCV).

The Brouwer Academy is not only training new drivers but also the experienced drivers. Taxi drivers with career plans to become a coach driver are allowed to attend the drivers licence D course at the Brouwer Academy. We are proud to inform you that the Brouwer Academy has the best success rate in the region of Leiden. Brouwer is also an official certified training institute for trainees who would like to work in the transportation sector, for instance: planners, mechanics or internships.

Intern & For other companies
The Brouwer Academy is also performing “in house” training courses for drivers from other companies, sometimes in cooperation with the Institute Vocational Training for Transport & Logistics. (Vakopleiding voor Transport & Logistiek)

All new taxi drivers attend a special basic training at the institute VKTL. During this course they learn about the following subjects; working hours transport decree, professional skills, traffic awareness, safe driving and taxi administration. The drivers must pass a theoretical and practical exam before they receive their driver’s certification pass.

All Brouwer drivers have passed the following exams/attended the following courses:

– Taxi transport basic training
– Taxi transport practical training
– Taxi driver social skills training
– First Aid & CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)
– Driving proficiency analysis

All our experienced drivers attend mandatory courses every year in order to keep up with the changes in this line of work, for instance:

– Taxi & coach driver will attend the Modern Driving course within one year of employment.
– Coach driver must participate in a social skills training within one year of employment
-Taxi & coach driver must participate damage / collision prevention
